Batam - Bintan Trip - A Short Nice Break

"My favorite thing is to go to a place where I've never been". Eventhough the trip to Batam and Bintan was sudden, but the time was perfect. There were lot of  things on my mind at that time that I have to get away for a while. Plus, in Indonesia itself, I have never been traveling outside Java & Bali. The third reason is my friend whom based in Batam, already arranged all the itinerary so I didn't have to worry. "Good things come to those who book flights" (Source: Pinterest) So after some considerations, I booked a flight to Batam. Felt super excited. Here I share you the details of my amazing 3 days in Batam and Bintan. Day 1 Arrived at Hang Nadim (airport) in the afternoon (out of schedule because of the 2 hours delay. Hufft). So i didn't get a chance to visit the town. After picked up by my friend Tyo at the airport, we're heading straight to the Telaga Punggur Airpor to go to Bintan. It only took 1-hour drive...

Birthday Surprises from Boyfriend

On my 30th birthday, Nori my boyfriend made some surprises for me that turned out to be one of the best night in my life. That night he asked me to join dinner with his friends while on my surprise, he took me to Oakwood apartment where he already booked a room. "I rent it because it has kitchen so I can cook for you," he said calmly. When I entered the room, I saw on the dinning table there were some various of dishes. He thinks that cooking is a personal thing and he made me western dishes, a skill that he learned while studying English in Manchester. OMG I JUST CAN'T.  After the dinner, the surprises continue. Once I finished shower, he shocked me again with a cute birthday cake with candles light on. This time,,,I CRIED. How sweet he is. And.... it's not over! Apparently it's not enough for him. So later on after we eat the cake, cleaning up, and made our way to bed, I found out something hidden beneath my pillow. And OMG another gift there. He calmly sai...

Jogja Trip - A Present for My 29th Birthday

Who doesn't love Jogjakarta. A city with so much leisure and kindness. I spent my high school and college Jogja which makes it a plac I call second home. Eventho I've lived there for many years, but on last November I visit the city as a tourist. It means, I went there with complete itinerary and during my visit, I stayed in a guesthoust. Big thanks to my friend, who gave me train tickets as a gift for my  birthday.  1. I arrived at Lempuyangan Station at noon and I was picked up by my friend. Because I starved to death with empty stomach for about 8 hours...we're heading straight to Local Resto (Local Hotel) which is located near Jembatan Merah. Bad choice, i do admit. Both the food and the drink are disappointing. The place it self is a new famous place. Not like the other hotel, the restaurant is located separated from the hotel building. It is true that the place has interesting and very cool architecture. It has contemporer design and because the place is not ...

Bangka Belitung Trip - Ending the Year

Suddenly, many people talk about the beauty of Belitung because of the movie called Laskar Pelangi. The island which is located in east Sumatra like a hidden gem that tranformed into one of the most famous destination in Indonesia. And in the end of 2015 I happened to step my foot on those white beach island and take mandatory photoshoot in front of that popular big rocks. We spent 4 days 3 night there. Belitung is such a small island and we spend the times by island hopping, culinary tour, and visiting Andrea Hirata museum (the writer of Laskar Pelangi. IMHO, 4 days to spent in Belitung is more than enough because there's not much things to do there. If I have another chance to go there maybe 2 or 3 days is enough. Btw, in the mood of holiday, here's my recent playlist: Belle and Sebastian - The Party Line Shortstraw - Couch Potato  Shortstraw - Good Morning, Sunshine  Mat...
